Singapore Arts Festival 2008 Closing Celebrations
Brought to you by The Lunatics from The Netherlands
8pm, Bedok Reservoir
Hydro Sapiens

(Apologies to the short video clip as I could only upload 10mins of it)

For every question, there is an answer…
What is the power of water? How weak can it make you? Should we fear it, love it, hate it? A human being is made up 80 percent out of water, so why do we need more? Why do tears taste salty? And why doesn’t sweat taste sweet? Is Jaws still alive? And in how many ways a man can drown? For all these questions,
The Lunatics will try to find the answers - through a very intensive, hilarious, spectacular and even brutal search for the right value of water....

The world premiere latest water-fantasy Hydro Sapiens marked the end of Singapore Arts Festival 2008. Cheers!!

_______________________________________
Acclaimed Canadian choreographer Édouard Lock spruces up Tchaikovsky’s ballets Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty, melding classical and modern dance. The result is the breathtaking Amjad, interpreted by nine virtuoso dancers of stunning strength and versatility from a group that has earned unrivalled international recognition for its unique choreographic language. Inspired by the Arabic name meaning “greater glory” given to both men and women in Lock’s birthplace of Morocco, Amjad deconstructs and reconstructs familiar ballet passages through the extreme physicality of pirouettes and moves that defy physics and time, yet never losing their sensitivity, sensuality and emotional fragility. With French-Canadian sculptor Armand Vaillancourt designing the multi-media set, accompanied by music from composers Gavin Bryars (Britain), David Lang (New York), noise artist Blake Hargreaves and borrowed phrases from Tchaikovsky, Lock creates a universe that is beautiful, surprising, and at times frightening. This is romantic ballet pushed into the contemporary cutting edge.

Work hard, Play hard?

Yes! Case closed for june issue, finally! Haha! It was after weeks of hardwork from everyone, we finally sent it out for colourproof. Well, a lot of things/changes happened during May and before, it only made me grow into a more mature girl. 3 more weeks to pass over all my duties to a new designer, and I'm off to embark on a new journey. Thanks for all the fun from our new batch of interns. Haha!

I went out with sher li after work last night. We had our dinner at Pasta de Waraku @ Central. As usual, we took our queue number and waited for at least an hr to get a table for two. We were famished by the time haha, and quickly we ordered our meals. I had the healthy salmon & tomato spaggetti with basil sauce, sharing minestrone soup and Sher li had the eel/Unagi spaggetti and Ice Lemon Tea. It was delicious and we gobbled up the food within less than 15mins I supposed hahaha! This shows how hungry we are, but the portions aren't big either. After dinner, we explored the whole cannery place and finally decided to settle for drinks from Cheers instead haha! Cause it was so crowded at all cafes and bars. We wanted a quiet place that we can chat without shouting...and well, to keep to our budget too. I got the Japanese grape juice and she had Ice green tea. We took the bottles and sat at the riverside, chatting, and I had a great pleasure listening to her singing the 3 songs that she chose for auditions too. She is a student from Lee Wei Song singing school and she sang real well. We have a common purpose for music, and I hope I can fulfil my dream too. Haha.

This coming Thursday, the almost whole company is going to play the laser type of paintball for reviewing purposes. Wee! It just get us excited and we were told to be vSing the team from CJC. Jiayou SMP! Hahaha! We must fight a victory battle. This coming Friday is Anna's pre-birthday. She wanted to hold a theme party in the office that day? Hmm haha! Gona be fun.
